KUALA LUMPUR: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng will not be meeting top officials of Lynas Corporation to discuss the rare earth plant in Pahang during his upcoming official visit.

Lim said this was decided by the Pakatan Rakyat leadership during the coalition's council meeting on Monday. "Pakatan is of the opinion that the chief executive of Lynas should meet the people affected by the rare earth plant as we should put the rakyat first," Lim told a press conference at Parliament lobby.

Bernama reported Lynas as saying that it was disappointed that Lim had declined an invitation to meet its executive chairman Nick Curtis. In a statement today, Lynas said it would leave the invitation open and welcomed the opportunity to help Lim understand Lynas's investment in an advanced materials plant in Gebeng, Kuantan.

This was especially in the light of Lim's comment on the impact of radioactive by-products, it said. BERNAMA

ARAB KOMEN: sememang nya ketua menteri paling cilakak tidak mahu mengambil tahu isu lynas, tapi memporak peranda kan isu lynas kononnya dia tahu semua. AH BENG YANG BODOH SOMBONG..!!!
